Losers Team scores: Monaco grand prix

A disconsolate Charles Leclerc saying "Can't believe I didn't enter the Pitlane Punt"

THE BIGGEST LOSERS IN MONACO

The Monaco grand prix was all about Charles Leclerc and his home race woes. To borrow an analogy from a different sport, he faced an open goal with no defenders, and then he uprooted the goalposts and threw them into the nearest marina.

Not only did he top the points by squandering his poll position so badly, Leclerc's disaster vastly affected the result for Losers Teams in Monte Carlo. Any Team that played the Charles Chance Pitlane Punt, successfully betting on Leclerc not finishing in the top six, got themselves stacks of points.

Let's shimmy around hairpin and peer into the tunnel of doom as we explore the fate of the Losers Teams points in Monaco. Read on.

Two teams gambled on the Charles Chance punt in Monaco and won a pay-out of 120 Losers Points each. So congratulations to Team Name and VroomDoom for coming up trumps in what turned out to be the first successful Pitlane Punt of the season. Both teams would have been in the top four scorers in Monaco anyway, so this boosted an already lavishly loserly performance.

Cruthers Car Co would have topped the points in Monaco, with Bottas continuing to earn points for them. As it is, they claim third highest score for this glamorous street circuit. Following behind them is Mancunian Badboy Racing, who have Leclerc on their team. Nice work.

Next in the list is Murraylivesforeverinourhearts, another Leclerc beneficiary, and then there are four teams in sixth place. We're not going to mention them all because words are at a premium on this website and we don't want to waste unnecessary verbiage by spinning out these sentences longer than we absolutely have to, so instead we're going to keep things nice and short by not waffling on and on for ever and ever because that would be really annoying and frustrating and... ahem, sorry.

See the full Monaco points awarded to Losers Teams below. Oh and an apology to HAASN'T A CHANCE. In the scores for Spain, we forgot to take your stake for your failed Iberian Question Pitlane Punt. We have deducted those 4 points from this race's scores instead. Mistake corrected.

PODIUM OF SHAME

Every race, we shine a spotlight on the handful of teams who were too successful and failed to score. These teams disgust us, and will be forced to walk the streets with a sign dangling from their neck saying "I am successful". The shame. THE SHAME.

No team did terribly badly, but Not good on the BENds bottomed out in Monte Carlo, with Pierre Gasly's competent sixth place doing nothing for them. Back of the shed were also close to the bottom of the points, and hovering near the winner-y end of the listings were Clean Trolls and The Pit Lockers.

It must be upsetting not to earn Losers Points, like getting five per cent on a cycling proficiency test. However, Losers Teams can now do something about it. We have unlocked one Ejector Seat for every team. You build these up throughout the season, and "spend" them on replacing team choices. One Seat earns you a driver replacement – do it now!
